Insomniac - CAD Designer

Job Summary The CAD Designer will create detailed 2‑D site plans for Insomniac festivals and concerts, ensuring safety and precision. The role requires in‑office work with occasional travel to sites during load‑in and events. Responsibilities Prepare detailed, multi‑layered 2‑D CAD drawings for all experience elements. Maintain safety standards on every experience plan. Learn and use the standard site‑plan layout for Insomniac festivals. Attend site visits to take measurements and provide notes for site‑plan development. Create geotagged drawings with accurate placement of site items and confirm placement during festival load‑in. Specify series of points or objects to determine enclosed area, distance, radius, angle, and volume. Communicate with departments and incorporate knowledge into drawings. Prepare capacity studies for the entire site and specific stage audience areas. Create as‑built plans for record and future use. Work with the site production team to place all key festival elements during construction. Maintain company‑owned plotters and measurement equipment. Identify and communicate potential design problems to the festival/ concert producer. Frequent travel is required (economy). Qualifications At least 5 years of 2‑D CAD experience, ideally in outdoor or live‑event applications. Strong task‑oriented and big‑picture thinking. Excellent prioritization skills in a fast‑paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient organization and multitasking across multiple shows. Effective problem‑solving ability. Comfortable working in loud, busy, and temperature‑variant environments. Deep passion for music and willingness to learn industry specifics. Adherence to confidentiality of corporate, strategic, and marketing information. Ability to travel frequently and work nights, holidays, weekends. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, AutoCAD, Civil Engineering, Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign). Work Environment Work may involve tolerating loud noise, busy environments, and drastic temperature changes. Frequently working and traveling to events during evenings and weekends is required.
