Veterinary Assistant

Job Description:

Our Veterinary Assistants are an integral part of our team, and make it possible for us to give our clients and our patients a white-glove experience. Vet assistants are the ones who support our technicians and veterinarians. We need someone who is reliable, kind, and truly has a passion for what they do.

Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians during appointments, surgeries, and other medical procedures
Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, and record vital signs
Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing
Perform dental cleanings and assist with other procedures as needed
Clean and maintain medical equipment and exam rooms
Provide exceptional customer service to our clients
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

1 year of experience as a veterinary assistant or technician preferred, but not required
Knowledge of basic animal care, nutrition, and behavior
Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
This position can be highly physical, so the ability to lift, stoop, bend and carry up to 50 pounds is a must.
