Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
• Location: Redding
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Shift: Night Shift
• Schedule: 3x12
• Experience Required: 2 Years
• Weekly Pay: $3150 to $3350

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers before, during, and after delivery
• Assess maternal and fetal health throughout labor using fetal monitoring and clinical assessments
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments
• Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Monitor labor progression and respond promptly to changes in maternal or fetal condition
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and breastfeeding
• Care for mothers and newborns immediately following delivery
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatric teams, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care standards
• Provide emotional support and compassionate care throughout the childbirth experience

Requirements

• Active RN License in California
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Current BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification required
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills
• Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients preferred
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery environment
• Commitment to providing exceptional, family-centered care
