As a Technical Writer, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter.How a Technical Writer will make an impact:Create and review ITD technical products for proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as for logic, clarity, and consistency.Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents including software and systems/network engineering, system/network operations, testing, user documentation, etc.Write and edit technical documentation for all the projects hardware and software requirements to include installation, configuration, how-to documentation, and end-user guides.Standardize documentation by creating and implementing templates for all document typesEnsures that style and format conform to agency publication standards and that language presentation is consistent with prescribed style guides and specialized vocabulary of subject matter fields.Amends draft tables, tone boxes, and graphics to ensure the content supports and is consistent with the accompanying text.Ensures proper classification markings in accordance with provided guidance.Works with authors to revise products for narrative organization, and negotiates further revisions as needed.Maintain document library to enable ease of document storage, retrieval, updates, and reviewParticipates in special projects as requiredWhat you'll need to succeed:Required Education and Experience: BA/BS + 8 yearsDesired Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level IISecurity Clearance Level: TS/SCI with PolygraphKnowledge of the principles and practices involved in technical research, writing, and editingKnowledge of and ability to use various word-processing and desktop publishing software applicationsKnowledge of the organization's products and services, customer requirements, purpose and structure of required documentation, and end user's level of understandingHands-on experience with Microsoft Office SuiteLocation: On Customer SiteThe likely salary range for this position is $93,662 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
