Job Summary Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. Position Details Entity: Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) Worker Type: Employee Worker Sub-Type: Regular Cost Center: CC003721 COL - EP Lab (DMC) Pay Type: Hourly Pay Grade: Health-28 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Job Description Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. Minimum Training and Education Education: Associate degree in nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Licensure: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. BLS: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or AHA-recognized equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers. ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to stand or sit for extended periods. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for activities such as vitals, injections, and exams. Ability to lift and move patients or medical equipment as needed. Visual acuity and color perception to read charts and monitors. Auditory ability to communicate with patients and colleagues and to hear alarms or instructions. Stamina and resilience to handle the physical and emotional demands of patient care, including long shifts. Mobility to navigate clinical environments and move between rooms and areas.
