Hospitalist/Internal Medicine Position

NEUVENTURE is seeking a candidate for a full-time, day Hospitalist/Internal Medicine position to work with patients who are very medically complex requiring intensive medical management for multi-system failure, often requiring ventilator management and weaning. The best candidate will have the ability to work with the entire interdisciplinary team of professionals to maintain medical stability along with the rehabilitation process which often results in excellent outcomes for the patient. The correct candidate will also represent the hospital as needed in public relations/community education activities, as well as, education to the staff.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Examine, treat and prescribe to patients as well as develop patient treatment based on diagnoses
• Implement and oversee treatment plans
• Analyze reports and findings in order to determine patients progress and adjust treatment plan accordingly
• Advise interdisciplinary team of appropriate treatment techniques needed for individual cases
• Conduct clinical rounds, fully participates in interdisciplinary treatment plan conferences and adequately documents progress of patients
• Provides input into the admission process and continued stay of patients
• Provide medical services to a caseload of patients (includes diagnosis and ongoing treatment)
• Actively participates in an interdisciplinary team approach with respectful collaboration" with all team members
• Ensure adequate discharge planning by the Case Manager
• Adhere to all accepted medical practices, hospital policies, applicable licensing and certifications as well as JCAHO and CARF standards and documentation guidelines

Requirements Qualifications include:

• A degree in medicine from an accredited college or university
• Certification in an area of medical specialization by an American Medical Association Specialty Board
• Licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law. A copy of the current license must be attached to the application
• Knowledge of the following: theories, principles and practices of the specialized field of medicine; clinical aspects of medicine; standards of medical care; and current developments in medicine
• Skill in the examination/treatment of patients, performing medical diagnosis, and planning treatment based on diagnosis
• Ability to communicate effectively with other physicians, health care professionals, support staff, patients and families of patients.
