STUDENT WORKER-LIBRARY ASSISTANT

Description The work study students assist staff and students in the use of library resources, perform cleaning duties, and provide additional/supervised coverage during evening hours. The position lasts throughout the fall and spring semesters on the Trenton, Missouri-Main Campus. Responsibilities Greet and assist people when entering the library in a professional and welcoming manner and provide accurate directions or assistance. Assist with shelving books and other materials. Staff the circulation desk and assist with answering questions. Support the office with event planning, preparations, communications, and projects. Help with administrative needs including office tasks, general inquiries, organizing, general cleaning duties, and customer service. Perform other related duties and office tasks as assigned. Qualifications Skills: Punctuality, a welcoming and approachable demeanor, willingness to learn about the NCMC catalog and databases to help students. Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills and the ability to work with a wide range of students. Physical Demands: Moving about between buildings on the NCMC campus, ascending and descending stairs, reaching, pulling, and pushing when filing. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and remain stationary at a desk for extended periods while typing and answering phones.
