Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Postpartum Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team in providing high-quality maternal and newborn care. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing both mother and baby in the postpartum unit.

Responsibilities

Perform assessments and vital sign monitoring for newborns.
Conduct glucose screenings and provide baths for infants.
Assist with complex feeding techniques and phototherapy.
Administer medications as prescribed and manage various infusions including magnesium, insulin, PCA/PCEA, and heparin.
Provide education and support to new mothers regarding postpartum recovery and infant care.

Requirements

Must have at least 2 years of experience in a postpartum or mother-baby care setting.
Ability to manage a nurse-patient ratio of 1:3.
Current BLS certification is required.
Experience with newborn care practices, including assessments and intervention protocols.
The ability to float within the hospital units when necessary.

Schedule and Availability

Shifts consist of three 12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
Weekend shifts are required unless otherwise specified in the schedule.
Requests for time off are limited to a maximum of one week.

Additional Information

The facility is a Magnet designated and teaching center with a total of 637 staffed beds.
Charting is performed using EPIC software.
Parking is available at a daily cost.
