Shift: Mon, Tue, Wed, Nights, 6:30pm-7am Posting #: 1063295 Employee Type: Full-Time Position Summary The Polysomnographic (PSG)/Sleep Technologist I is an entry to mid-level position in the Sleep Lab department. The PSG/Sleep Technologist I is able to perform polysomnography testing, scoring, CPAP/BiPAP titration, and oxygen titration independently. The PSG/Sleep Technologist I will perform the polysomnogram, including test set up, electrode application, maintaining patient safety during clinically significant events, and other related duties. This position works under direct or indirect supervision of a RPSGT Communication skills are essential for this position. Position Duties The Polysomnographic/Sleep Technologist I demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and competencies to perform a variety of sleep procedures independently. Maintains continuing education and competencies; acquires new competencies relative to industry standards in Sleep Medicine and sleep studies working towards certification in Polysomnography. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested. High School Education or equivalent Required 2. Currently enrolled in or graduate from an ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (ABRET) Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program with an add-on track in PSG, or American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) accredited, or other accredited Polysomnographic Technologist Program, or a Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care Polysomnographic Certificate Program or an Associates Degree or higher from an accredited college or university is desired. Required Experience 1. Six months experience independently performing PSG/sleep studies in a patient care environment (can include clinical rotations) Required Special Skills 1. Well-developed PC and Microsoft Windows Knowledge Required Additional Requirements 1. Board-eligible or credentialing in Polysomnography Preferred 2. Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association. Required 3. Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) credential or equivalent from the Board of Registered Polysomnograpuc Technologists (BRPT) Preferred Physical Requirements & Occupational Exposure/Risk Potential
