Senior Field Service Technician – Engine Division Under the direction of the Regional Manager, the Senior Service Specialist serves as the primary technical resource for authorized dealers across an assigned territory, delivering expert-level phone support, field diagnostics, and hands-on training for the Engine Division. This role is central to dealer capability development and customer satisfaction. Location Requirement: Candidates must be based in Florida, Georgia, or Alabama. Key Responsibilities Phone-Based Technical Support Serve as a senior-level technical contact for authorized dealers via phone, email, and digital platforms. Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and fuel-system issues and guide dealers through structured troubleshooting processes. Provide guidance on warranty claims, parts identification, repair procedures, and service manual interpretation. Maintain thorough ticket documentation and manage issues through to resolution. Dealer Support & Field Service Conduct on-site visits to authorized small-engine dealers to deliver technical support, diagnostics, and repair guidance. Assess dealer service capabilities, identify gaps, and recommend improvement opportunities. Deliver hands-on product training, technical updates, and service best practices during field visits. Support new dealer onboarding through distributor channels, ensuring adherence to service policies and warranty procedures. Document field findings and elevate recurring or emerging product issues to engineering and quality teams. Quality Feedback & Product Improvement Identify and report recurring failure trends, field issues, and dealer feedback to Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Product Management. Participate in root-cause analysis efforts and contribute to product improvement initiatives. Provide input on new model launches, service readiness assessments, and parts support planning. Relationships & Contacts Reports to: Manager – Field Service & Parts (USA/Canada) Internal: Regular collaboration with Engineering, Marketing, Quality, Technical Publications, and Parts Order teams to resolve service issues and maintain product quality. External: Daily interaction with distributors and dealers via phone, email, and in-person visits; frequent contact with OEM accounts and OEM distributors; occasional vendor engagement through Engineering and Purchasing. Qualifications 3–5 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing gasoline turf and utility engines, diesel engines, and common rail fuel systems. Associate degree preferred, with coursework emphasis in mechanical and electrical disciplines; equivalent field experience considered. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to dealers of varying skill levels.
