Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary:

The OR RN (Circulator) will provide specialized nursing care in the operating room environment, supporting various surgical procedures across multiple specialties. The role requires a proactive team player capable of adapting to different units and ensuring patient safety throughout perioperative care.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and assist during surgical procedures as a circulating nurse, monitoring patient safety and infection control standards.
• Utilize EPIC EMR system efficiently to document patient care and procedural details.
• Float to different Prisma Health units as needed, performing tasks within their demonstrated competencies.
• Ensure adherence to Prisma Health policies, including travel compliance and module completion prior to assignment.
• Assist in pre-operative preparation and post-operative care to facilitate smooth surgical workflows.
• Comply with all requirements for orientation, annual compliance, and module completion within designated timeframes.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with minimum of 1-year recent experience in an operating room setting.
• Proven experience in a wide range of OR specialties including allied and SPT services.
• Proficient in EPIC EMR with demonstrated competence in documentation.
• Ability to float and adapt to different units and tasks within scope of practice.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced perioperative environment.
• Must be able to send Social Security Number with submission and adhere to travel and compliance policies.
