Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary:
The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. They are responsible for ensuring patient safety, preparing the OR environment, and supporting surgical teams throughout procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' clinical, mental, and spiritual needs before, during, and after surgery.
• Prepare and maintain a sterile environment, utilizing appropriate clinical equipment.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to coordinate patient care and assist with surgical procedures.
• Recognize and address safety issues, including the correct use of lifts and other safety measures.
• Provide leadership and support as a charge nurse when required, prioritizing and delegating tasks.
• Respond promptly to on-call duties, maintaining a 30-minute response time.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with a current NYS RN license.
• Possess or be willing to obtain BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of nursing principles and perioperative care.
• Exhibit strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Have experience with clinical equipment and instrumentation used in perioperative settings.
• Ability to function well under stress and work effectively in fast-paced environments.
