South Carolina Greenville, SC 296140001, USA Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Social Media Specialist is responsible for creating and sharing engaging social media content that supports the BJU Press Christian School and Homeschool brand and its imprints. This role includes meeting regularly with the team to brainstorm ideas for monthly content. Additional responsibilities include managing Christian School podcast and website, managing the Homefront homeschool website, and maintaining the homeschool blog.

About the Team: The purpose of Marketing team is to promote BJU Press K-12 educational materials with a biblical worldview for Christian schools and homeschools. Our Core functions are: Content creation and Management for Christian School and Homeschool, Print Sales Materials, and Websites for both Christian School and Homeschool.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create, schedule, and monitor content across various social media platforms to support the BJU Press brand and its imprints. Collaborate with the marketing team to generate monthly content ideas and support campaign development. Coordinate with team members to plan and execute product promotions and seasonal campaigns. Maintain ongoing engagement with homeschool affiliates and manage podcast sponsorships to enhance brand partnerships. Support the planning and execution of Homeschool Solutions emails to align with brand initiatives and marketing goals. Monitor social media conversations, respond as needed, and report on audience engagement and sentiment. Work with SEO and web analytics teams to collect, track, and analyze digital metrics to inform content strategy. Stay informed on social media trends, tools, and best practices to continually improve campaign performance and audience engagement. Coordinate Christian School podcast and recording schedule, as well as maintain the podcast website on Wix. Maintain a homeschool content platform, Homefront on Wordpress. Schedule and maintain homeschool blog web content on Wordpress. SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES NEEDED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey ideas and collaborate across teams and platforms. Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain consistent workflow. Collaborative mindset with a genuine enjoyment of working in a team-oriented environment. Creative thinking with an eye for detail in developing engaging and brand-aligned content. Adaptability and willingness to learn, especially in keeping up with changing trends in social media and digital marketing. Proactive approach to problem-solving and taking initiative in contributing ideas and solutions. Analytical thinking to interpret data and adjust strategies based on performance insights. Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills to build productive relationships with affiliates, team members, and partners. Ability to balance multiple responsibilities while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficiency in Wix and Wordpress. Familiar with managing and creating web content Proficiency in social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, X) for content creation, scheduling, and engagement. Experience using social media management tools such as Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, or similar platforms. Familiarity with email marketing platforms, such as ActiveCampaign or comparable tools. Basic understanding of SEO principles and how they apply to social media and digital content. Ability to track, analyze, and report on social media metrics using native platform insights or web analytics tools. Working knowledge of content creation tools, such as Canva, Adobe Express, or similar design software. Basic knowledge of HTML for formatting digital content and emails (preferred). Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or similar platforms. Understanding of digital advertising basics, including paid social campaigns and audience targeting. Working knowledge of BJU Press products and the homeschool market (perferred) An applicant for a position in the Bob Jones University group — Bob Jones University, Bob Jones Academy or BJU Press — must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
