For more information about joining our team, please visit us at Loan SpecialistPosition OverviewThe HBCF Loan Specialist ensures timely and compliant closing of all Homebuilder and Community Finance (HBCF) loans originated by the bank. This role serves as a critical process driver throughout the loan origination and post-closing portfolio management lifecycle. The specialist manages complex credits, including participations and syndications, while coordinating with internal stakeholders, clients, legal counsel, and third-party vendors to achieve seamless loan closures and funding.Key ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end coordination of HBCF loan closings from term sheet through initial funding and booking, with particular expertise in complex structures such as participations and syndicationsServe as primary point of contact and liaison with internal business partners, clients, title companies, legal counsel, syndicate members, and external consultantsReview all loan documentation for compliance with credit approval terms, bank policy, federal and state regulations, and legal standardsRequest, order, and analyze comprehensive due diligence documentation, including entity documentation, flood determinations, appraisals, inspections, environmental reports, insurance, title, surveys, budgets, and construction-related materialsObtain original loan documents, review collateral exceptions, and clear exceptions prior to fundingFacilitate account openings, client onboarding, and loan fundings in collaboration with internal business partnersSupport Relationship Managers with portfolio renewals and loan modifications as neededManage approximately 10 builder portfolios, including both borrowing base and guidance lines of creditProcess weekly builder draw requests, including unit inspections, system updates for percent completion, and availability analysisMaintain accurate collateral records by reconciling monthly and quarterly reports against HBCF internal reportsGenerate and process monthly renewal letters for maturing collateral unitsManage timely and accurate system entry of builder requests for collateral and unit additions to lines of creditBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers, business partners, and internal team members to deliver an exceptional client experienceSupport special projects and operational initiatives as assignedRequired QualificationsMinimum 3 years of commercial loan closing experienceAt least 2 years of experience in real estate or construction loan documentation and collateral trackingDemonstrated ability to manage multiple loans simultaneously while meeting critical closing deadlinesProven expertise in commercial collateral due diligence and entity documentation requirementsStrong capability to review, interpret, and assess all loan documentation types, lien perfection, and attorney-prepared documentsProficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelExceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilitiesAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionMeticulous attention to detailDemonstrated ability to interface effectively with executive management, clients, attorneys, title companies, and third-party consultantsProfessional discretion in handling confidential informationCustomer service mindset with personal initiative and sense of urgency in resolving issuesPreferred QualificationsExperience with TCL/Loan Momentum collateral management systemsBachelor's degree (relevant work experience will be strongly considered)Additional InformationThe duties listed above represent the essential functions of this position.
