Job Summary The Staff Accountant supports accounting operations and financial reporting for a multi-entity wine and spirits business. This role is responsible for account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close activities, tax compliance support, and financial analysis. The Staff Accountant works closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and continuous process improvement. ** This is a hybrid role. Tues - Thursday onsite M & F remote optional. ** Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Perform balance sheet analyses and investigate reconciling items. Process account reclassification requests and maintain supporting documentation. Assist with variance (flux) analysis and financial reporting schedules. Support intercompany accounting, including reconciliations and elimination entries. Assist with bank compliance reporting and other lender reporting requirements. Support capital expenditure accounting, including CER tracking, budget monitoring, and reporting. Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation. Assist with sales and use tax, property tax, excise tax, and other regulatory filings. Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit requests. Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash reporting activities. Support DTC accounting activities, including payment reconciliations and chargeback analysis. Partner with AP, AR, Operations, Payroll, and IT to resolve issues and improve processes. Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
