Summary
Under supervision, performs routine carpentry tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of wood structures, fixtures, and furnishings according to blueprints, drawings, and specific instructions. Does this position require Patient Care?
No Essential Functions
-Performs general carpentry tasks such as demolishing and rebuilding walls, installing suspended ceilings, installing drywall, and so forth.
-Designs, builds, installs, and/or repairs shelves, bulletin boards, desk tops, cabinets, partitions, and so forth according to blueprints or drawings.
-Installs doors, frames, windows, and wall shelves. Hangs doors, sets frames, and fixes door closers and hinges.
-Builds a variety of fixtures on request, such as picture frames and coat racks.
-Estimates the time required and supplies needed for carpentry projects.
-Operates hand and power tools such as saws, lathes, handsaws, sanders, drills, drill presses, hammers, and so forth.
-Performs minor repairs to hospital furniture, including broken chairs, desks, etc.
-On a quarterly basis, inspect & repair all patient rooms, corridors, and stairwells.
