Associate Director of Formation and MissionOffice of Adolescent Catechesis and Evangelization Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston The Office of Adolescent Catechesis and Evangelization (OACE) serves parishes across the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston in their mission to accompany young people as disciples of Jesus Christ. Through leadership development, catechetical formation, evangelization initiatives, and practical ministry support, OACE equips those who serve adolescents to foster vibrant faith communities where young people can encounter Christ, grow in discipleship, and actively participate in the life of the Church. The Associate Director of Formation and Mission provides vision, and coordination for OACE's adult formation and ministry development efforts. This position oversees the development and delivery of formation programs, leadership training for youth ministers, digital learning opportunities, and professional development initiatives that support youth ministers, catechists, Confirmation coordinators, volunteers, and parish leaders in effective ministry with adolescents. This is a full-time, no less than 40 hours per week, in office, benefits and PTO eligible position.The Associate Director of Formation and Mission must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church. Lead and advance OACE's Formation and Mission portfolio. Develop strategic goals and annual priorities for adult formation initiatives. Assess program effectiveness and implement continuous improvement strategies. Collaborate with the Director and OACE team on formation and evangelization efforts. Design and oversee youth ministry formation opportunities throughout the Archdiocese. Develop and maintain OACE specializations and endorsements. Coordinate key formation programs, including EXPLORE, ASCEND, Youth Ministry Modules, and Youth Ministry Training Day. Serve as the primary administrator for OACE digital learning initiatives. Collaborate in the creation of engaging and effective online formation experiences. Develop practical ministry resources, toolkits, and guides for parish leaders. Identify emerging trends and recommend new formation opportunities. Promote innovation and excellence in formation programming. Facilitate workshops, presentations, and training sessions throughout the Archdiocese. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Theology, Catechetics, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field. Minimum three years of experience in experience in parish, diocesan, or Catholic school ministry. Must have a valid Texas Drivers License. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of Catholic theology, evangelization, adolescent development, and youth ministry best practices. Demonstrated experience designing and facilitating formation, training, or leadership development programs. Ability to build collaborative relationships with clergy, parish leaders, volunteers, and young people. Strong public speaking and facilitation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and ministry technology platforms. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills. Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed for ministry events. Occasional travel throughout the Archdiocese.
