Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Experience:

• 4 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• Travel experience is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• High School completion required.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:
Four or more years of related experience in the operating room.
Skills in ortho, neuro, and spine cases are required.
Ortho, neuro, and spine crani cases are required for call; the traveler must be strong in totals.
The traveler must be comfortable with complex spine and neuro cases and in totals.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience with general surgery, GYN, urology, plastics, ENT, and GI is preferred but not required.

Required Credentials:
Graduate of a certified surgical technologist program required.

Special Requests:
An interview with the unit manager may not be available prior to offer. If you do not interview with the unit manager, you may interview with a third-party clinical nurse manager.
The traveler must have their own vehicle and cannot rely on Uber/Lyft due to on-call responsibilities.

Unit Details:
Efficiently set up an operative suite for patients, review case carts to ensure all supplies are available, scrub surgical cases in a variety of specialties, and turn over rooms for multiple procedures throughout the day.
Average 40-60 cases per day.
Downtime tasks may be assigned as needed, and the clinician may help teach new hires.

Shift & Scheduling:
Variable day schedule.
6-8 nights of weeknight call and 1-2 weekend call shifts during the 13-week contract; 30 min response time, meaning the traveler must be ready and in the OR within that 30 min.
Weekends are for call only.
Holiday coverage is required as needed.
Travelers may be placed on call during low-census hours.
Call-back minimum is 2 hours.
GSA hours are not assured during orientation week.
Weekly set hours do not apply when the unit is closed for holidays.

Floating Requirements:
May be required to float to Aspirus Merrill, Antigo, Medford, or Stanley if needed.

9 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 3 years

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA)) or the alternative certification TS-C
