DIR - ENGINEERING/PLANT OPS

Responsibilities Responsible for entire maintenance function for the hospital, including continuous inspections of quality and quantity of work performed and periodic inspections of equipment, buildings, and grounds. Responsible for training staff on Fire and Safety and other related topics. Directly supervises Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Transportation. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Supervises a minimum of 3 staff. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. As well as meeting all required regulations. Qualifications One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employee must participate in the General Employee Orientation and Department/Job Orientation including competencies required for their position. Must satisfactorily complete all required trainings assigned to their position and ensure that their employee health file is satisfactorily maintained.
