Associate Attorney - Civil Litigation Defense

Job Description Serve as primary handling attorney on civil litigation defense cases Manage all stages of litigation including discovery, depositions, court appearances, mediations, and pre-trial preparation Collaborate with partners and clients to strategize on case development and resolution Prepare legal documents including motions and correspondence Participate in occasional trial preparation and proceedings Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates Utilize a legal assistant for administrative support Qualifications Must be licensed to practice law in California At least 1 year of civil litigation experience (plaintiff or defense side) Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience with court rules, calendaring, and civil procedure in state and federal courts Ability to manage caseload independently and meet billable hour requirements Why This Is a Great Opportunity Salary range of $130,000-$185,000 per year, plus bonuses Hybrid flexibility with an attorney cohort in the San Francisco office Billable bonus structure ($120/hour over 1,860 hours) Firm-paid health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) plan with 4% match after six months Unlimited PTO policy (billable requirements apply) Parental leave and flexible work options Onboarding buddy, attorney mentor, and regular CLE/pro bono opportunities Long-term growth potential with a clear partnership track Benefits: 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Parental leave Vision insurance
