Forklift Operator – Columbus, NE

Pay Rate: $22.70 per hour ($20.00 base pay + $2.70 shift differential)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 PM–4:00 AM
Shift: 3rd Shift
Work Location: Onsite

Position Summary

The Forklift Operator provides material handling support to production by safely transporting materials to and from production areas and warehouse locations. This role maintains accurate product identification, traceability, and material status while supporting warehouse operations and complying with established quality systems, safety regulations, and company procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely transfer products into and out of the warehouse rack system.
• Transport raw materials, work-in-process materials, and finished goods to and from production areas.
• Handle rejected, questionable, experimental, and validation materials according to established procedures.
• Transport hazardous materials safely in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Remove and recycle waste materials as needed.
• Identify and report damaged materials.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and legible records.
• Perform transactions using SAP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Operate electric forklifts, including stand-up and sit-down models, electric pallet jacks, slip-sheeting equipment, and material tuggers.
• Obtain and maintain required forklift certification.
• Follow quality standards, warehouse procedures, and applicable safety regulations.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Perform additional warehouse duties as needed to support production and business operations.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of six months of forklift operating experience.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift in a warehouse or production environment.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and self-management abilities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Steel-toe or composite-toe safety shoes required.

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of warehouse experience.
• Experience with SAP, MES, or warehouse inventory systems.
• Experience operating electric pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.

Screening and Assignment Requirements

• A 10-panel drug screen is required due to forklift operation.
• The drug screen must be completed within 48 hours of accepting the job offer.
• Candidates may begin work with the criminal background check pending, provided all required criminal background and drug screening processes are completed.
• Candidates must comply with applicable safety procedures and material handling requirements.

• Base pay is $20.00 per hour, plus a $2.70 third-shift differential.
