Part-time Company Description BrakinOut is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to elevating disadvantaged youth by offering them second chances through mentorship and empowerment programs. Our mission is to elevate our disadvantaged youth by offering them a second chance through mentorship and reclamation. Established in Tampa, Florida, and now expanding in Dallas, Texas, Brakin Out Inc. specializes in mentorship programs addressing lack of self-esteem, LGBT+ coming out, relationships, peer-to-peer support, family or self-hurt issues, and bullying. Brakin Out Inc. is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a Board Member, you will be at the forefront of guiding the strategic direction of our organization, ensuring effective governance, and championing our mission to provide second chances and mentorship to at-risk youth. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and impactful nonprofit, making a lasting difference in the lives of disadvantaged young people. Job Description As a board member, you will leverage your expertise in social work and your professional network to help guide our strategic direction and enhance our programs. This is a volunteer position with an estimated commitment of 10 hours per month, including quarterly board meetings and occasional events. Key Responsibilities Provide Expert Knowledge: Share insights and experience in working with at-risk youth and their families to inform our strategies and programs. Build Connections: Utilize your professional network to create partnerships and opportunities for the youth we serve. Support Program Development: Contribute to the development and improvement of programs tailored to at-risk youth. Advocate for Our Mission: Act as an ambassador for Brakin Out Inc., raising awareness and support within the community and professional circles. Qualifications Proven experience as a social worker or related role in social services. Strong understanding of the challenges and needs of at-risk youth and their families. Excellent communication and networking skills. Commitment to the mission and values of Brakin Out Inc. Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or resource development is a plus. Knowledge of non-profit governance and strategic planning is preferred. Previous board experience is a plus but not required. Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
