As a Starbucks Sr/lead Decision scientist on the data democratization team, you will Be part of the team that powers data-driven decision-making across our data democratization team at coffeehouse operations, Partners and Supply Chain domain. You will help shape how insights are translated into action-enabling teams to optimize store performance, improve partner and customer experience, and scale solutions across the enterprise. Key Responsibilties:

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define problem statements, success metrics, and decision frameworks
• Translate ambiguous business problems into structured analytical frameworks and actionable insights
• Guide stakeholders through trade-offs, risks, and implications of data-driven recommendations
• Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, influencing decisions at multiple levels

What you'll do:

• Analyze data to deliver actionable insights with strong hands-on experience with modern analytics and BI tools, including Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, and MicroStrategy
• Ability to design, build, and scale interactive dashboards and reporting solutions that drive decision-making
• data preparation, transformation, and workflow automation (e.g., Python, R, SQL) to enable efficient analytics
• Establish reporting cadence, monitor KPIs, and share updates with stakeholders.
• Stay ahead of emerging AI/BI trends to accelerate data modernization efforts (Generative AI, Augmented Analytics).
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to enable AI-driven insights and modern BI capabilities (Cloud Platforms: Azure, APIs).

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years in analytics, decision science, roles.
• Education: BA/BS in business or quantitative discipline (Stats, Math, Comp Sci, Engineering); Masters preferred.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills with an executive presence.
• Proven ability to drive projects from concept to impact in ambiguous environments.
• Technical proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern BI tools; familiarity with AI/ML concepts.

Preferred:

• Experience integrating AI-driven insights into dashboards, semantic models, or data marts.
• Expertise advanced AI techniques and build AI-orchestrated pipelines for complex data analysis.
