Job Title: Operator Job Description

This role focuses on operating production presses while managing material handling, performing quality checks, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. You will work on multiple presses or products during each shift and balance the needs of each machine according to area priorities set by leadership. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth production flow, consistent product quality, and adherence to safety and housekeeping standards on the 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

• Operate production presses and related equipment safely and efficiently according to established procedures and work instructions.
• Perform material handling tasks, including staging raw materials, loading and unloading parts, and moving finished products to designated areas.
• Balance work across multiple presses or products during the shift, prioritizing tasks based on area needs as defined by supervisors or business unit leadership.
• Monitor equipment during operation to identify irregularities or issues and promptly report or escalate concerns.
• Conduct routine quality checks on products to verify they meet specifications and standards.
• Inspect parts and components for defects, damage, or nonconformance and take appropriate action when issues arise.
• Document quality inspection results accurately and in a timely manner, following company procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area, including keeping presses, equipment, and surrounding spaces clean and organized.
• Follow all safety guidelines, use required equipment properly, and contribute to a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support smooth production flow and continuous improvement in the area.

• At least 6 months of manufacturing experience.
• Experience in production or general production environments.
• Hands-on machine operation experience in a manufacturing or assembly setting.
• Ability to perform assembly tasks as part of the production process.
• Experience with packaging finished products or components.
• Basic inspection skills to identify product defects or quality issues.
• Ability to handle materials safely and efficiently around presses and production equipment.
• Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to standard operating procedures.

• Prior experience working with multiple machines or products during a shift.
• Familiarity with basic quality checks and documentation in a production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Willingness to participate in structured training and development programs, such as apprenticeships.

This role is based in a manufacturing facility on the 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You will work around production presses and related equipment, performing machine operation, assembly, packaging, material handling, and inspection tasks. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with a strong emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and organization. You will spend most of your shift on the production floor, balancing work across multiple machines and maintaining housekeeping standards to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, MI.

The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $16.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
