Underwriting Team Lead

Role Description

Longbridge is looking for our next Underwriting Team Lead. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Accurately evaluate and underwrite HECM and/or Proprietary reverse mortgage loan files submitted by retail and wholesale production channels, in accordance with company policy and FHA HECM and Platinum program guidelines.

Primary Job Duties:

• Supervise a team of underwriters and monitor team performance for the review and decisioning of Reverse Mortgage loans.
• Conduct second level reviews.
• Assist as needed to resolve escalation questions.
• Assist in hiring and training underwriters.
• Collaborate with underwriters, processors, sales, and external brokers to assist with structuring Reverse transactions.
• Review underwriting decisions and conditions, and may underwrite loans as needed.
• Have a thorough knowledge of HECM and/or Proprietary Reverse underwriting guidelines and constantly staying on top of any changes.
• Work closely with Underwriting Management to implement plans, improve consistency, efficiency, and shorten turn times.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent HECM and/or Proprietary mortgage underwriting experience.
• DE Certification required.
• Ability and desire to lead and mentor a team.
• Ability to prioritize and make quick decisions.
• Able to maintain a positive attitude and be productive when under pressure and under tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to interpret and communicate regulatory guidance.
• Strong attention to detail, superior analytical skills, data driven mentality.
• Excellent customer service skills including both verbal and written communication.

• Target base salary range is 115-125K which is based on various factors including skills and work experience.
• In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive additional compensation program via monthly production bonus that is based on individual performance.
