Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. This role will involve managing project scope, programme, budget, quality, health and safety, and stakeholder expectations across a range of complex civil, mechanical, electrical, and process-related works. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and environmental requirements.


Key responsibilities will include preparing and maintaining project execution plans, programmes, risk registers, budgets, procurement schedules, and progress reports. You will oversee design development, construction activities, commissioning, and handover, while monitoring performance against agreed milestones and identifying opportunities for improvement. The role will also require effective management of contractors, consultants, suppliers, and client representatives, including chairing progress meetings, resolving technical and commercial issues, managing change, and supporting contract administration. A strong focus on health, safety, environmental compliance, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction will be essential.


Applicants should have proven project management experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, or wider infrastructure sector, with a track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget. A relevant qualification in civil engineering, construction management, project management, or a related discipline is desirable, together with experience of NEC or similar forms of contract. You will need strong commercial awareness, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with water treatment, wastewater treatment, pumping stations, pipelines, network upgrades, or associated infrastructure would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be organised, collaborative, commercially astute, and confident making decisions while building positive relationships with all project stakeholders.
