About the Facility: East Memphis Surgery Center in Memphis, TN was designed with one objective: to give each patient the ultimate experience in same day surgical procedures with unrivaled quality of care. The facility is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology to perform a number of procedures. This facility performs general, regional, spinal, and local anesthesia cases. This is an independent practice model staffed with 1 anesthesiologist daily, and 3-5 CRNAs daily Monday through Friday.

Schedule: Monday – Friday (No call, no nights, no weekends)

Case Mix: ENT, General, Urology, Podiatry, GI, Plastics, Ortho, GYN, Vascular

Call Requirements: There are no call requirements for this position.

Malpractice Professional liability will be covered by LifeLinc.

Responsibilities

Characteristic job tasks and responsibilities may include any and/or all of the following:

• Ensure the availability of adequate anesthesia staffing to provide clinical, medical, and administrative leadership support throughout the organization.
• Administer anesthetic or sedation during medical procedures.
• Inform students and staff of types and methods of anesthesia administration, signs of complications, and emergency methods to counteract reactions.
• Provide medical care and consultation in many settings, prescribing medication and treatment.
• Provides clinical support and patient care to assist the anesthesia team as applicable.
• Maintain current policies and procedures set forth by LifeLinc and propose new and efficient policies when applicable.
• Perform clinical reviews and audits on all clinical services provided by other practitioners employed by LifeLinc as applicable.
• Responsible for training and oversight of all clinical staff and personnel as applicable.

Language Skills

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors, patients, patient's family and other employees of organization.
• Able to work in a team-oriented environment.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

HIPAA

• Ensures and adheres to strict confidentiality when handling patient information, according to the HIPAA Privacy Act and hospital policy and procedure regarding confidentiality.
• Complies with all information security practices.
• Has knowledge of and adheres to all compliance regulations, policies and procedures.
• Takes annual HIPAA compliance exam.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

Education and experience equivalent to: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of medicine in anesthesia with a current license in good standing to practice in the state in which you are located.

Additional qualifications:

• ACLS/BLS/PALS Certification
• Comfortable practicing in a care team model
