Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as an Emergency Department Technician. This part-time role (0.6 FTE, 0600-1830 shift) involves providing direct patient care and supporting clinical staff in a busy emergency setting. You will work under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Physicians, delivering compassionate care and technical assistance to patients in urgent need.
Job Summary As an Emergency Dept Technician, you will perform a variety of clinical tasks including CPR, vital signs monitoring, cardiac telemetry, EKG acquisition, wound care, splinting, bladder scanning, and assisting with procedures. If certified as a Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy, you may also perform blood draws and glucose testing. You will assist with patient triage, transport, personal care, and comfort measures, ensuring a positive and supportive environment for patients and families. Education- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C), Medical Assistant Certified (MA-C), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program with active certification.
- Nursing Assistant Registered (NA-R) application must be submitted within 30 days of hire and maintained annually.
- Minimum two years of experience in a patient care setting.
- Experience in acute care, emergency department, or as a first responder is preferred.
- Telemetry experience is a plus.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Medical Assistant Phlebotomy certification required within six months if applicable.
- Strong knowledge of patient care practices and medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and medical telemetry equipment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
