Job Title: CSH Advance Practice Nurse Req #: 0000247639 Category: Nurse Practitioner Status: Full-Time Shift: Day Facility: Childrens Specialized Hosp Department: Administration-Physicians Pay Range: $90,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year Location: 3575 Quakerbridge Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619 Job Overview The APN is a licensed independent practitioner who is responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for children in accordance with professional standards and hospital guidelines. The APN works collaboratively with other members of the medical staff to provide care to patients in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics. The APN possesses a comprehensive knowledge base established within a sound theoretical framework and utilizes advanced assessment skills, specialty expertise, and age appropriate interventions. The APN provides staff and patient education and is an integral member of the health care team. Qualifications Masters or doctoral degree in pediatric advanced practice Minimum of 3 to 5 years nursing experience required Experience as a practicing APN is strongly preferred Experience in developmental pediatrics is preferred Licenses and Certifications NJ APN license NJ RN License Pediatric NP Certification (FNPs with strong pediatric backgrounds will be considered) AHA BLS Provider Certification CDS, DEA Shift M-F 8:30a-5p Essential Functions Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with colleagues as well as external contacts Develops and implements a Joint Protocol specific to their clinical practice area and consults with collaborating physicians as established in the joint protocol Collaborates with the full interdisciplinary team including patients and families and all other areas of the organization to ensure the development and implementation of Patient and Family Centered Care practices Participates in team meetings and conferences when available to enhance an interdisciplinary approach to health care delivery Participates in the education of students by serving as a lecturer and precepting students in the clinical area Maintains accurate billing Identifies knowledge and skill needs through self assessment and annual performance evaluation In addition, the APN for Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics outpatient will also be responsible for Providing developmental assessment, diagnosis, and management for children and adolescents ages 0 to 21 years This includes, but is not limited to diagnoses and management medications when indicated of autism, ADHD, developmental delay, learning difficulties, behavioral difficulties, anxiety depression with referral to higher level of care when indicated Meets expectations of department staff positions as required to meet customer expectations Demonstrates understanding of diagnoses, pertinent medical findings, rationale, goals of treatment, and medical interventions for patients through practice and written documentation Initiates, directs and leads teams to meet comprehensive medical patient care needs, utilizing quality and cost effective methods Assists in identifying and resolving ethical problems or dilemmas of individuals or systems Recognizes the need for continuity and completeness of care, above and beyond basic needs Communicates and incorporates relevant research findings into practice, education and consultation Motivates staff to improve their performance, continuously, leading to improved department performance Maximizes potential of self and colleagues by supporting professional growth and attending and conducting training and orientation sessions Maintains credentials and continuing education according to professional practice standards and relevant statutes and regulations Coordinates the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services to meet customer expectations Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO) Medical and Prescription Drug Insurance Dental and Vision Insurance Retirement Plans Short & Long Term Disability Life & Accidental Death Insurance Tuition Reimbursement Health Care/Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts Wellness Programs Voluntary Benefits (e.g., Pet Insurance) Discounts Through our Partners such as NJ Devils, NJ PAC, Verizon, and more!
