Behavior Specialist - PRN

Schedule PRN – as needed coverage when clinic is open (Mon‑Fri). No set hours or consistent days. Role Overview The Behavior Specialist supports the delivery of high-quality Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions within Rogers Behavioral Health treatment programs. The specialist assesses the function of behavior, develops and implements individualized plans, provides training and education to patients and support persons, collaborates within an interdisciplinary team, and monitors progress, making necessary adjustments to produce the best outcomes. Responsibilities Provide cognitive behavioral and other therapeutic services, including groups, to patients according to clinical standards of care and under the supervision of a Clinical leader. Participate in supervision sessions with the Clinical leader; communicate regularly on specific patient progress and adjustments needed to the care plan based on observations and responses to interventions. Regularly monitor the effectiveness of interventions and make necessary adjustments, including administering outcome measures, reviewing results, and modifying interventions as needed in consultation with the Clinical leader. Document mental health services according to applicable regulations and payer expectations, ensuring acute and timely documentation of treatment plans, outcome assessments, psychosocial information, and other patient care data in the medical record. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and assist in the development of the treatment plan. Communicate treatment interventions and support needs for assigned caseload to interdisciplinary team members and support systems as needed. Offer training support to other direct care team members less familiar with CBT interventions (MHT, nurses, clinic assistants, etc.). Provide parent or support‑person training and education on how to support CBT interventions and behavioral treatment plans effectively. Ensure patient safety and the safety of the facility. Support changes in staffing/scheduling assignments when program and patient care needs require. Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining current knowledge of department processes, pursuing self‑directed learning, continuing education opportunities, and participating in committees, task forces, and work groups as determined by management. Qualifications & Education Bachelor’s Degree required (human services, psychology, social work, or related field). Must hold a valid Substance Abuse Counselor‑in‑Training credential (or state equivalent) if working in an Addiction Recovery program that requires it. Relevant Cognitive‑Behavioral Treatment (CBT) experience (12 months preferred). Relevant clinical or human services experience is acceptable. For Residential programs – a current and active driver’s license in good standing (preferred for all levels of care). Required On‑the‑Job Training Compliance with Residential Care Center (RCC) and Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) – required for Residential Inpatient programs, preferred for all levels of care. American Heart Association CPR certification within 30 days of hire; bi‑annual recertification. Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) within 60 days of hire or transfer; annual recertification. Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) training within 90 days of hire. Additional trainings may be required per unit; completion within the timeline established by leadership during onboarding. Pay Range Compensation for this role is between $22.59 and $32.52 per hour, with placement in the range varying based on years of experience and education.
