Physician Hospitalist - Competitive Salary

Job Description PERM - Internal Medicine Hospitalist - Nocturnist VHS is seeking a dedicated and experienced Internal Medicine Hospitalist to join our esteemed team in Dothan, Alabama. This full-time nocturnist role offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality inpatient care within a well-established hospitalist program at Southeast Health, a leading 420-bed regional referral center. Join a dynamic practice committed to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care in a supportive environment, with a focus on work-life balance through a 7 on/7 off schedule and 12-hour night shifts. Key Responsibilities: Provide inpatient care for unassigned patients presenting to the emergency department requiring hospitalization. Manage transfers and conduct in-hospital consultations. Admit and co-manage adult patients, including those in critical care, with support from intensivists. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including 24/7 pulmonary/critical care support and subspecialty services. Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and patient management. Support limited coverage for select primary care patients in private practice. Required Skills and Qualifications: Board-certified or eligible in Internal Medicine. Residency training in Internal Medicine. Proven experience in hospital medicine, critical care, or related fields. Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Nice to Have Skills: Experience with EPIC EMR. Prior night shift or nocturnist experience. Additional certifications such as ACLS or ATLS. Preferred Education and Experience: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. Internal Medicine residency completion. Minimum of 2 years of hospitalist or inpatient care experience preferred. Other Requirements: Active Alabama medical license or eligibility.
