The Opportunity

SNI Companies is seeking a mission-driven Controller to lead accounting operations for a dynamic non-profit organization in Washington, DC. We are looking for a process-oriented leader to own the full-cycle accounting function and serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day accounting, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and fund accounting.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes and financial statement preparation.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for organizational sustainability.
Ensure GAAP compliance and serve as the primary liaison for external audits and Form 990s.
Strengthen internal controls and mentor the accounting team.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred).
5-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
Experience in non-profit/fund accounting is highly desirable.
Proficiency in advanced Excel and ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, etc.).
Strong ability to communicate financial data to Boards and executive leadership.
