Controller (Non-Profit) Washington, DC (Hybrid Flexibility) $125,000 - $130,000 Base Salary The Opportunity SNI Companies is seeking a mission-driven Controller to lead accounting operations for a dynamic non-profit organization in Washington, DC. We are looking for a process-oriented leader to own the full-cycle accounting function and serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership. Why This Role Stands Out

- Oversee day-to-day accounting, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and fund accounting.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes and financial statement preparation.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for organizational sustainability.
- Ensure GAAP compliance and serve as the primary liaison for external audits and Form 990s.
- Strengthen internal controls and mentor the accounting team.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred).
- 5-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
- Experience in non-profit/fund accounting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel and ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, etc.).
- Strong ability to communicate financial data to Boards and executive leadership.
