Pharmacist Contract Opportunity

A 13-week contract opportunity for a Pharmacist is available at a 400-bed medical center near Fredericksburg, VA, serving Northern Virginia. This role is primarily focused on inpatient pharmacy services, with potential for temp-to-hire transition.

Location: Spotsylvania, VA (Northern VA area)

Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts
• Primarily 2nd shifts during the contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately to ensure patient safety
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support their workflow
• Collaborate and consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding medication therapy
• Participate in pharmacokinetic evaluations and dosing adjustments as needed
• Utilize IT systems including EPIC and Pyxis for medication management and documentation

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist with relevant inpatient hospital experience
• Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis pharmacy systems
• Strong communication skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to supervise and guide pharmacy support staff
• Knowledge of pharmacokinetics and medication safety protocols
