Temporary Senior Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Attorney

Audrey Golden Associates Ltd.

A well-regarded Midtown Manhattan firm needs a senior employee benefits and executive compensation attorney to cover a partner’s practice during a leave of absence. The engagement is expected to last 2 to 3 months, starting immediately.

Responsibilities

Drafting and amending qualified and nonqualified plan documents, including 401(k), 403(b), pension, profit-sharing, deferred compensation, and health and welfare plans
ERISA and Internal Revenue Code compliance, SPDs, employee notices, and annual reporting
Handling IRS and DOL inquiries and audits
Drafting and negotiating executive employment agreements, incentive and equity plans, SERPs, and 280G issues
Benefits and compensation issues in M&A transactions and post-closing integration
General employment counseling as needed: handbooks, offer letters, separation agreements, and leave and wage-hour questions

Requirements

10+ years of employee benefits and executive compensation experience, preferably at a law firm
Admitted in New York
Comfortable working directly with clients and senior executives with minimal ramp-up time
Available to start right away
