Click here to see - A Day in the Life - Pharmacy Technician A Day in the Life: As a Pharmacy Technician, your day is focused on ensuring an accurate and efficient experience for patients while working under the supervision of a pharmacist. You assist with processing prescriptions, entering data, and preparing medications within regulatory guidelines. Customer interaction is a regular part of the role, whether answering questions, processing transactions, or directing clinical questions to the pharmacist. Another part of the role is maintaining organization and consistency within the pharmacy. Between handling prescription workflows, maintaining compliance, and assisting with daily operations, the work stays steady making it a good fit for someone who values accuracy, structure, and attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment. Customer Interaction Skills: Experience assisting with data entry, medication preparation, and order processing within regulatory limits Pharmacy Knowledge: Familiarity with prescription terminology, dosage forms, and product recognition Effective verbal and written communication, including phone interactions with patients and providers Regulatory Awareness: Following HIPAA requirements and federal and state pharmacy laws Physical Capability: Comfort with standing for extended periods and completing repetitive tasks throughout the shift Must be 16 years of age or older (or 18 years of age or older, depending on location requirements) Current Board of Pharmacy registration or licensure required where applicable Ability to operate computers, registers, and pharmacy systems Successful completion of required pharmacy training programs and technician development requirements Working knowledge of pharmacy procedures, prescription processing, and HIPAA guidelines Proficiency in computer systems and basic math calculations Availability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays preferred Albertsons Companies Inc. has always been a people-oriented business, and thoughtful people practices remain a core element of our company’s philosophy. Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation pay (accrued based on hours worked), paid holidays (between 7-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).
