Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Core Chemistry

Labcorp

Labcorp seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technologist Trainee for core chemistry work in Birmingham, Alabama. The role involves performing laboratory testing procedures, operating instrumentation, and ensuring quality control in a routine and complex testing environment. New graduates are welcome with full training provided.

Responsibilities

Evaluate specimen acceptability based on established laboratory criteria
Perform routine and complex technical procedures per departmental protocols
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for functionality
Document preventative maintenance, quality control, and accurate test results
Prepare and evaluate new reagents or controls; manage testing bench supplies

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within team settings
Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
Capability to pass standardized color blindness testing
Physical ability to meet job demands; flexibility for overtime or shift changes

Compensation: $2,500 sign-on bonus for external candidates
