This individual must perform these tasks as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, and in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations. Also, must perform routine daily tasks required in maintaining the health, comfort and well-being of the patients/residents./ph3Qualifications/h3pQualifications:/pulliState certification as a Nursing Assistant mandatory./liliState approved medication administration certification (where required)./liliAbility to read, write, and speak the English language./li/ulpEssential Functions:/pulliAdministers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with any state and federal regulations and consistent with facility policy./liliDemonstrates knowledge of five rights of medication administration./liliMay take and record vital signs of patients/residents/residents as assigned or as may be required by certain medications./liliRecords the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately./liliObserves for and reports any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse or the appropriate shift./liliAdministers PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and consistent with facility policy./liliDocuments reason for and response to PRN medications in a timely manner./liliMay dispense narcotics and must account for them under the supervision of the licensed (or charge) nurse per facility policy./liliProperly secures medication carts/medication rooms per state and federal regulations and facility policy./liliAttends facility education in-services./liliMay make observation rounds under the supervision of the licensed nurse (or charge nurse) on the shift./liliMay supervise nursing assistants/orderlies as assigned by the charge nurse (or charge nurse) on the shift./liliEnsures that medication room, med carts and medication refrigerators are kept clean and well organized./liliEnsures that any expired medications are removed for destruction per facility policy and procedures./liliAttends Quality Assurance meetings per request./liliAbility to function as a Team Leader/Role Model./liliHas reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Networks Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it./liliResponsible for assuring patient/resident safety./liliPerforms other duties as assigned./li/ulpWe are an Equal opportunity employer; We offer an excellent benefit plan to include 401K with match, CEU reimbursement, vacation, sick, holidays, medical, dental, and supplemental insurance Plans as well as a Highly competitive compensation package./p/div
