Objective of the Position:

Complete university specific travel requests accurately, with meticulous attention to detail in a timely fashion.

Job Summary:

 

This position is for a virtual or in-house, full-time consultant who is proficient in Sabre and possesses both domestic and international reservation experience. The consultant will engage the client either over the phone, via email or manage registration forms to create accurate travel reservations. The consultant will be well-versed in different aspects of planning, and booking groups including block and contracted air, chartered transportation and hotel room blocks.

 

Essential Functions:

• Arranging simple and complex domestic and international reservation for university centric clients including air, car, hotel, limo, rail services and other ground transportation services
• Advising traveler of all applicable travel requirements, including, but not limited to visas, passports, ancillary costs
• Receive incoming phone calls, emails, and registration forms to complete travel requests
• Manage profiles and queues
• Apply unused tickets on file to reservations to maximize client’s savings
• Engage all current technology and automation to perform job at highest level
• Follow company procedures, guidelines, standards and best practices to secure lowest, logical fares and accommodations
• Research and resolve enroute traveler service concerns in a timely manner
• Consistently demonstrating thorough understanding of client travel policy, guidelines, authorization requirements and procedures
• Fostering a strong, productive relationship with the client, providing excellent client service within the client’s guidelines
• Provide excellent client service at all times
• Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple assignments and respond quickly to changing business needs
• Exhibit meticulous attention to detail
• Adept at taking initiative and problem-solving
• Project a mature and professional demeanor when interacting with the client, its employees and colleagues

Time Spent Performing Essential Functions (Generally):

• Corporate travel transient reservations and service 50%
• Corporate group travel reservations and service 50%

Competency and Position Requirements

• Overall current travel industry knowledge and experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly with a client service focus
• 5+ years of native Sabre GDS proficient experience
• Familiarity with university and collegiate communities is a must
• Proven experience with group air blocks and contracts
• Prior experience with higher education and student travel is a plus
• Experience with group travel planning and logistics is highly desired
• Proficient with international itineraries and rate structures- both simple and complex
• Working knowledge of MS Office products; Outlook, Excel, Power point and Teams
• Proven experience with Smartsheet
• Independent worker who is a self-starter and who is willing to learn 
• Strict attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
• Demonstrates patience and flexibility
• Participate in disaster or emergency recovery events to ensure client needs are met
• Commitment to lifelong learning
• Attend staff and training meetings (virtual or in-person) for ongoing updates in the industry, office procedures and company updates

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma

College Degree Preferred

5+ years in a corporate travel role utilizing the SABRE GDS

Physical Factors/Environment:

·Traditional corporate office located in corporate park. Team Member will have a semi-private cubicle located on a floor with other semi-private cubicles.

·Because this is a position that permits telecommuting, the Team Member is responsible for (i) adhering to the company’s telecommuting policy and (ii) establishing a proper home office.

Working Conditions; Schedule:

·Full time, various hours, EST

·Team Member may work overtime from time to time upon request by World Travel, Inc.

·Team Member may be asked to report to a World Travel, Inc. office for training, support, or other reasons. World Travel, Inc. may make such request at any time, within reason.
