POSITION SUMMARY

As a Dock Lead employee at United Against Poverties Distribution Center (DC), you are a critical member of the DC team ensuring excellent product is provided to our members while operating an efficient and productive grocery program. The Dock Lead position plays a major role in the operations of the Distribution Center.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

·         Primary focus is to “off load” product from the trucks in a safe, efficient manner.

·         Places products in the appropriate location in the DC for ease of access, proper refrigeration/cooling, etc.

·         Ensure proper documentation is maintained/processed.

·         Product quality assurance control, knowledge of product temperatures, and holding temperatures.

·         Ensure refrigeration areas are neat and easy to navigate.

·         Reporting all safety and security concerns immediately to management.

·         Assisting with all other DC projects as needed.

ESSENTIALS THAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL                     

·         Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably in a warehouse setting.

·         Detail oriented, able to maintain all documentation, including but not limited to BOL’S, shipping transfer sheets, donation sheets, equipment maintenance inspections.

·         Accurately Shipping and receiving product, keeping a neat clean working Dock area.

·         Clear understanding of Warehouse inventory systems (FIFO, LIFO) and appropriate product placement for ease of access.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills.

·         Positive attitude, even in the face of adversity.

·         Ability to work well and collaborate with others.

·         All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

·         High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

·         At least two years’ experience in a similar role.  

·         Basic Computer skills.

·         Forklift/ Pallet jack certified or certifiable.

PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time and move frequently throughout the day. Must be able to push, pull, bend and lift up to 25lbs without assistance.
