Microbiologist, M. Souvenir

We are seeking a Microbiologist to support environmental and public health laboratory testing involving wastewater and water samples. The role will focus on molecular testing, including sample processing, RNA/DNA extraction, PCR testing, result interpretation, quality control, laboratory documentation, and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in biological sciences and hands-on experience with molecular laboratory techniques, particularly RNA/DNA extraction and PCR testing .

• Perform wastewater and water sample processing, examination, and analysis.

• Conduct sample concentration, RNA/DNA extraction, and PCR-based molecular testing.

• Maintain accurate laboratory records and sample tracking documentation.

• Evaluate, interpret, validate, and report laboratory test results.

• Perform quality control checks for laboratory methods, materials, and equipment.

• Maintain laboratory inventory and assist with purchasing of laboratory supplies and materials.

• Assist with preparation of laboratory reports and analysis of compiled testing data.

• Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new laboratory products, methods, and technologies.

• Follow established laboratory safety practices and procedures.

• Maintain compliance with applicable laboratory certification requirements and regulatory standards.

• Participate in proficiency testing programs as required.

• Communicate technical laboratory information effectively, both verbally and in writing.

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or a related field.

• Hands-on experience performing RNA/DNA extraction and PCR testing .

• Strong knowledge of molecular testing principles, theories, and laboratory practices.

• Knowledge of current molecular biology methods and testing procedures.

• Ability to operate molecular and standard laboratory equipment.

• Ability to compile, analyze, interpret, and report laboratory testing data.

• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety practices and procedures.

• Ability to follow applicable laboratory regulations, policies, and quality requirements.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively with laboratory staff and cross-functional teams.

• Ability to satisfactorily participate in proficiency testing programs.

• Experience with wastewater or water sample testing.

• Experience with environmental microbiology or public health laboratory testing.

• Experience with molecular surveillance or infectious disease testing.

• Experience with laboratory quality control and quality assurance.

• Experience with laboratory information and sample tracking systems.

• Familiarity with regulatory and certification requirements for laboratory operations.
