Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/12/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Med Surg MT5 Oncology Registered Nurse Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Hours: 36 hours/week Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Unit: Med Surg MT5 Oncology Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Med Surg Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join the MT5 Oncology unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong medical-surgical and telemetry background, excellent clinical judgment, and experience caring for oncology patients. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and oncology patients. Monitor and assess patients throughout the shift, recognizing changes in condition and escalating concerns appropriately. Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately. Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in cardiac rhythm. Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and care needs. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the multidisciplinary care team. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Follow all hospital policies, safety standards, and infection-control procedures. Support patients receiving oncology-related treatments and therapies. Required Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license. BLS certification required. ACLS certification required. ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certificate required. Medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience. Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills. Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend. Preferred Qualifications Previous chemotherapy administration experience highly preferred, but not required. Previous oncology nursing experience. Travel nursing experience in a medical-surgical/oncology setting.
