Principal Program ManagerLocation: Hanscom AFB, MASalary Range: $150,000 - $166,000 annually depending on experience, certifications, and qualificationsJob Status: Full-time; salariedClearance: Secret clearance required to have at time of hireAstrion has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Program Manager providing support to the USAF Weather Systems branch, which is within the PEO Electronic Systems Directorate (AFLCMC/ES) and located at Hanscom AFB, MA.For this position, the Weather Branch needs a top-notch Program Manager who can run a program, take initiative, knows how USAF works and not just be a task workerMust be a US citizenMust have an active Secret clearanceMinimum Required Qualifications / SkillsBachelor's Degree in a related field and 20 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 10 of which must be in the DoDOR, 30+ years of directly related experience, 12 of which must be in the DoDTechnical SkillsExperience on DoD or Air Force acquisition programsComprehensive knowledge of principles, policies and practices of systems acquisition and program management, as defined in DoDI 5000.02 and 5000.75, as well as knowledge of roles and relationships within the DoD and the Air ForcePossess knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of acquisition programsInterpersonal SkillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComfortable working in a dynamic team environment meeting end users' requirementMust be detail-oriented and have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilitiesResponsibilitiesDuties include, but not limited to:Knowledge of principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management, as defined in DoDI 5000.02, AFI 63-101/20-101Knowledge of roles and relationships within the DoD and the Air ForceKnowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition programsKnowledge of support activities that assist the program manager in assessing what programs are within schedule and cost baselines, be able to recommend viable solutions to problems, and the pursuit of alternative courses of actionEffectively communicate orally and in writing, providing quality acquisition and program documentation (briefings, documents, plans, etc.)Plan, research, analyze, and assess system acquisition in terms of development, production, and deployment of weapons systems and associated equipment as well as formulate plans and recommend effective strategies in meeting cost, schedule and performance objectivesSupport and develop acquisition reports, including statutory and regulatory reports (i.e., DAES, MAR, etc.)Support program management reviews, senior level meeting/reviews, and IMP/IMS reviewsSupport and develop various briefings/schedules of program status and acquisition tasks to senior managementCorrelate EVM Cost Performance Report analysis with the monthly IMS CDRLs for programsProvide expert Program Management inputs to Request for Proposal (RFPs) including systems specs, Electronic Warfare Systems (SRDs), Statement of Work (SOWs), and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs), and other RFP productsProvide services critical to Life Cycle Logistics and operational supportabilityInterpret, organize, execute, and coordinate acquisition project assignments and make recommendations to Government Program Manager regarding problems with unique or controversial items that may have a major effect on the overall performance and execution of acquisition & sustainment projectsCompare program direction and program plans for consistencyOutline policy disconnects, policy interpretation, and management of all acquisition effort.
