This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced critical care physician to help support an established practice at our Level II trauma center in Panama City.

Location: Panama City, FL

Facility: Ascension Sacred Heart Bay

Schedule: 7-on/7-off inpatient ICU coverage (7a-7p)

Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available

CME allowance + dedicated CME days

Malpractice coverage with tail

This job location is currently located in a Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) and/or Medically Underserved Areas/Populations (MUA/P) Shortage Designation Type.

Job Responsibilities

Join a team of 2 FT physicians and 4 APPs

Practice setting: primarily inpatient ICU

Employed position within a nonprofit health system

Board Certified in Critical Care

Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration

Champion the care team experience for loved ones

Facilitate practice growth and quality outcomes

Collaborate with colleagues to foster a highly efficient practice model

Shifts are 24hrs (12 onsite, 12 unattached call - APP is onsite overnight)

At least 1 year of critical care experience is preferred

Sacred Heart Bay opened in 1949 and was acquired by Ascension in 2019 to further the Sacred Heart mission in the Panama City community: providing excellent health care to all people, with special attention to the poor and vulnerable.

200 bed Level II Trauma Center (Part of a robust clinical network with our sister facilities in Pensacola, Destin, and Port St. Joe, FL)

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Licensed Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Florida Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Board eligibility/certification in medical specialty required.

Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
