Overview:
Neighborhood Services Bar + Restaurant, the premier dining destination at Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. As an experienced Line Cook / Cook 1, you will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality dishes in accordance with Omni's standards. This position focuses on dinner service, so it is primarily an PM position.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook menu items as directed by the Chef de Cuisine, ensuring consistency and quality.
* Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
* Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking.
* Execute precise knife skills, cooking techniques, and plating standards.
* Monitor food quality while cooking and ensure proper seasoning and presentation.
* Work efficiently to manage time and resources during busy dinner shifts.
* Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
* Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Line Cook in a high-volume restaurant environment.
* Expertise in elevated service is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and cooking methods.
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Present a calm demeanor and a positive attitude.
* Flexibility to work PM shifts, including closing shifts, weekends, and holidays.
* Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
