Senior Credit Analyst

The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth credit analysis and risk assessment of life insurance company clients, supporting the bank's credit insurance and lending decisions within the sector. This role combines technical credit expertise with strong cross-functional coordination across business lines and international coverage teams. Key Responsibilitie sConduct comprehensive credit analysis of life insurance company counterparties, including financial statement review, capital adequacy assessment, and industry/regulatory risk evaluatio nPrepare and update internal credit ratings for assigned insurance clients, ensuring assessments reflect current financial performance and market condition sDraft annual credit reviews and new credit requests, including exposure recommendations and risk mitigant sInitiate and manage MyCredit requests through the full approval workflow, ensuring timely and accurate submissio nParticipate actively in quarterly portfolio reviews for the life insurance sector, presenting analysis and flagging emerging risks or trend sCoordinate the credit pipeline with business line partners, coverage teams, and colleagues in New York and Montreal to ensure alignment on deal timing and credit decision sMonitor ongoing credit developments (ratings actions, regulatory changes, industry trends) affecting the life insurance portfolio and proactively communicate material change sLiaise with rating agencies, external data providers, and internal stakeholders to support credit decision-makin gMaintain accurate and up-to-date credit files and documentation in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirement sSupport ad hoc requests from senior management, risk committees, or regulators as neede d Required Qualificatio nsBachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred, ideally in Finance, Economics, or a related fie ldMinimum 10 years of experience in a similar credit analyst role covering the Life Insurance sector specifical lyStrong understanding of insurance company financials, regulatory capital frameworks (e.g., RBC, Solvency II), and industry-specific risk facto rsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex credit analysis clearly to varied audienc esDemonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environme ntStrong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across time zones and geographies (New York, Montreal, and other coverage team s)High attention to detail and strong analytical/quantitative skil sPreferred Qualificatio nsCFA charter or progress toward CFA designati onMBA or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipli nePrior experience with credit rating methodologies specific to insurance compani esFamiliarity with credit workflow/approval systems similar to MyCred #J-18808-Ljbffr
