Description Lincoln Christian School Job Title Chemistry Teacher Must Do Plan, organize, and implement the appropriate instructional programs with excellence in an environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential in a Christ-centered environment. Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning. Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests that are per established procedures. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction. Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures. Maintain discipline following the rules and disciplinary systems of the school and provide appropriate feedback on work. Encourage and monitor each student's progress and use the information to adjust teaching strategies. Maintain accurate and complete records of students' attendance, progress, and development. Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws and school regulations. Prepare required reports on students and activities. Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings. Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Prepare the classroom for class activities. Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities. Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development. Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and assignments. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution or related teaching field. Ability to use sound judgment. Build harmonious rapport and work cooperatively with and respond rapidly and appropriately to parents, students, and staff. Proficient in promoting, listening, creative vision casting, and excellent verbal and written communication. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to foster teamwork and motivate others. Self-motivated in all areas pertinent to the position. Participate in extracurricular activities as directed. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs. Required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
