Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team at a Level III Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency care and be comfortable handling high patient-to-nurse ratios. This position requires critical thinking skills and the ability to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Manage high patient loads effectively.
• Conduct assessments and develop nursing care plans.
• Administer medications and perform interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in educational and competency assessments.

Schedule

This is a 12-hour night shift position, with weekend and holiday requirements. Candidates must be flexible to meet departmental needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience preferred.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications required.
• Completion of competency exams, including medication and dysrhythmia tests.
