SOUS CHEF (FULL TIME)

We are hiring immediately for full‑time SOUS CHEF positions at Holmes Regional Medical Center, 1350 South Hickory Street, Melbourne, FL 32901. Online applications only. Position Summary Helps the Executive Chef prepare and cook foods. Coordinates the activities of cooks and other food‑service associates. Assumes responsibility for kitchen operations and associates in the absence of the Executive Chef. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring all deadlines are met based on production orders. Supervises hourly food‑service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in performance reviews, and recommending disciplinary action when appropriate. Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures. Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures. Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils; cleans workstations thoroughly before leaving and keeps display equipment free of debris during meal service to comply with all sanitation, safety, production, and merchandising requirements. Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner and relays relevant information to the supervisor. Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers. Keeps up with peak production and service hours. Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracks production, consumption, and waste, and informs the supervisor when supplies or product are low. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of previous culinary experience. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Florida Level 2 background screening may be required. Work Schedule & Compensation Full‑time schedule; open availability preferred. Days and hours may vary; weekends are required. More details will be provided during the interview. Pay Range: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.
