Registered Behavior Technician

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) implements, under the supervision of the division's Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).Minimum Qualifications:Credentialed as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)Associate's Degree or higher preferred; high school diploma or equivalent requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Skills in implementing behavior support plans as trained by the BCBA and/or school staffAbility to collect data daily with high fidelityAbility to develop and maintain professional relationships with students, teachers, administrators, and parentsWillingness to serve all studentsEffective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one timeAwareness of the various characteristics of students with disabilitiesSufficient strength, agility, and dexterity to perform job related dutiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCommitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional, ethics, and technologyPerformance Responsibilities:Follow prescribed behavioral skills acquisition and behavior reduction protocolsProvide direct student support in the school setting under the direction and supervision of classroom teachers, special educators, building administrators, and board certified behavior analystProvide professional communication with staff under the directives of supervisory staffMaintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required staff development trainingsAssist board certified behavior analyst and/or school staff with behavior reduction assessmentsMaintain confidentiality with regard to student records and informationAssist the teacher with the maintenance of a safe classroomTravel, as assigned, from the school board office to multiple locationsWorking Conditions & Physical Requirements:Exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels; speak in audible tones so that others may understandPhysical agility to lift up to 25 poundsPosition Type: Non-ExemptReports to: Lead Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA)Terms of Employment: Ten months a year.
