Job Description

This role focuses on setting up, operating, and running CNC Mazak Lathes and CNC Citizen Swiss machines in a climate-controlled environment. You will primarily perform machine setups throughout the day (5 - 10), while also running production jobs in small to medium batch sizes. The position offers the opportunity to work with live tooling on all machines and, if experienced, to program using Esprit or Mastercam.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC lathes and CNC Citizen Swiss machines according to job specifications and production requirements.
• Operate CNC lathes and Swiss machines to run production jobs, typically in batches of 50 to 300 pieces.
• Move between multiple machines throughout the day to perform setups and ensure efficient workflow.
• Use live tooling on all machines to complete complex machining operations.
• Program CNC machines at the control for lathe work when capable, using Esprit and/or Mastercam.
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements and proper setup.
• Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure parts meet specified tolerances.
• Monitor machine performance, inspect parts, and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot setup and machining issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience with CNC lathe or CNC Swiss machine setup, with the ability to begin contributing with minimal training.
• Hands-on experience in CNC machine setup and operation.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T).
• Experience with CNC programming and editing at the machine control.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience programming with Esprit software is a plus.
• Experience with Mastercam programming is beneficial.
• Comfort working with live tooling on CNC lathes and Swiss machines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
• Ability to manage multiple setups and tasks across different machines in a single shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Lakeville, MN.

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
